Idea for a new “Real Men of Genius” commercial
September 2nd, 2010We salute you, Mr Obnoxious Cat-Caller from the back of a Hooptie!
First, I shall clarify…a Hooptie, according to the Urban Dictionary is basically a P.O.S., a cheap and/or broken down car.
Why is it when a group of dudes, usually in a pack of 2 or 3, pile into one of these glorious automobiles, they feel the confidence to shout out a random noise or one word at an unsuspecting female pedestrian. Don’t get me wrong, I AM flattered, I mean, who wouldn’t be…but instead of increasing speed after this fear inflicting act, why not pull over that 1986 muffler-about-to- fall-off-with the bumper cuz the bungee ain’t gonna hold no more honda and try to foster this new relationship? Is it really just an expression of your appreciation?? I thought we had something, it was definitely a moment…

We were Christmas Pirates on a treasure hunt! As we found the clues this holiday our pirate garb also became more elaborate...aayyyy mate!
My mother, the creative artsy type that she is, was the master-mind behind behind a family tradition that we could not break…and still to this day must participate in, in order to receive our Christmas gift. We were not the wealthiest of families in Rockford, MI, monetarily speaking…so in lieu of multiple gifts, my mother created a themed-holiday game. It brought us together as a family, and kept us busy for a very long time on Christmas Eve…(which I believe was the intention of zee mama of the house:). Every year the game was different. We never knew what game we were going to play to receive our special Christmas present, jeopardy, pictionary, song-creation (yes, one year we had to make up an Irish song and jig to it)…but they were all very intricate and specific. Moms was really good about that. She also didn’t leave out theme based outfits for complete and utter humiliation. When long-term relationships were a part of our holidays, they also became part of the festivities…outfit and all:) Gosh I am so datable…who wouldn’t want that?? haha…loves ya mom!
